Miku Hatsune

If I asked anyone I know if they would be interested in playing money to go see a a pop star who isn't real preform at a concert they would look at me like I was crazy. However, that is exactly what people are lining up to do all around the world for this one specific, projected, supper star. Miku Hatsune is an anime character who is 16 years old, stands 5' 2", and weighs 92. Hatsune voice comes from a computer software called Vocaloid. Sound designers use the Vocaloid program to create, adjust, and fine tune Hatsune's voice; creating the unique sound that her fans adore. If you ask the mastermind, Itoh, who created Hatsune if he ever though about any kind of a background story for Hatsune he will look at you like you are crazy. Itoh's opinion is that if you provide Hatsune's fans with some basic information about her they will write Hatsune's story for themselves. One response from a 13 year old Hatsune fan that I found particularly interesting was “It’s a good thing” Miku isn’t human, she said. “She’s not going to die. She’s not going to turn into Miley Cyrus, where she gets drunk or something.” I found this quote very interesting because it introduced something that I had never considered before. If you could create a performer that would never die or be corrupted you could use that vitral person to influence their fans to be better people. Overall after reading the article I no longer think the idea of Miku Hatsune is so crazy. In fact, I think it is actually a very interesting idea and I am excited to see further development in the idea.
